Total Boosts to date :
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and our answers to them.
My boost gauge does not hit 100% when I boost? Why not?
The boost gauge is an intelligent quick look at how well your system is running and how far we have managed to get in tuning your PC. GBoost™ automatically improves over time. As we collect together all the known processes and services that users use and enter them into the database, so does the potency of the boost at stripping down unnecessary stuff from your rig.
You will see this improvement over time just by looking at your Gauge before and After boosting and noting any changes.
Can GBoost™ damage my system?
Absolutely not. We pride ourselves in the fact that GBoost™ makes no permanent changes to your system. All we do is temporarily close down processes and services that are not required. Even if GBoost™ was to mess up and crash you would only be a reboot away from your normal system again. So you can be happy in this knowledge :)
Why do I keep getting a pop up in Windows Vista/7 about UAC?
Because GBoost™ closes down/reopens processes and services, it requires administrative privileges in order for it to work properly. Microsoft introduced User Account Control as a safety feature for your system which asks you to make sure you know what software is running. You can disable this feature although it is not recommended unless you know what you are doing. If you wish to disable it, go to our forum for a guide on how to do this.
Does GBoost™ spy on my system?
In short, no. We are governed by Data Protection Act and do not store any personal data. GBoost™ does send back some data anonymously to collectively gather details on running system tasks which enables our engineers to continuously monitor and fine tune new software as it is released.
How does it work?
It works using a client/server connection to our large database of potential tasks that your windows is running. Our Pro Technicians then conduct test on a particular task to see if it is required or not during gaming. You can just rest assured that a professional is tuning your PC for you. You can always go into advanced mode and do a selective boost to suit your requirements, for instance if you like to leave your music player running when playing a game.
