2 Are u using an administrator or user account

    DownloadList.boost.bak

    OptionsList.boost.bak

Yes, I can create a text file and edit it in this folder.
  • Tried this on another pc in the house (should have mentioned the last one was a laptop)
It works fine, instantly got the list from the servers. I wonder why it wont do it on my laptop. (Laptop had 64-bit version of Windows 7 by the way.)

    1 Windows Vista (32-bit)
    2 Administrator
3 I have only one account

    DownloadList.Boost
    OptionsList.Boost

Yes, I can create a text file and edit it in this folder.

    OptionsList.Boost

Yes I can create a text file and edit it in the folder.

Gboost worked for me a couple of days ago.
  • Gboost v 1.0.3 installed. Has 1.0.4 been released yet??
I can not find a current version listed ANYWHERE on your website or MajorGeek.

This report is a little confusing... So hope you can follow it...

I have 2 accounts, Admin and Family.
Gboost seems to be working fine on my Admin account.
Gboost will not launch on my Family account. *

On the 2nd Family Account, Gboost did automatically update... but again, would never launch the application.

    Win7/64
Admin & Family Accounts (No Admin rights).

    1. Admin Account Local Docs.
    DownloadList.boost
    DownloadList.boost.bak
    OptionsList.boost
    OptionsList.boost.bak
    New Text Document.txt **

** "can u also test if u can create a file there for eg create a new txt file n edit it"
^^^ I don't understand this. What do you want? What is "eg" and "n"?
I was able to create "New Text Document.txt" and edit and save it.

    2. Family Account
C:\Users\Family dir while logged into the Family Account can not be accessed.
    Access denied.

    2. Family Account C:\Users\Family\AppData\Local dir while logged in as Admin does not have either folders "Gzero" or "LiveGboost".

    * Under the Family Account, Task Manager reports that Gboost.exe is running.. but then 2 copies run.
    1st Gboost.exe process takes up ~11,000k
2nd Gboost.exe process takes up ~5,000k but stops & dissapears over and over.
This cycling of the 2 Gboost.exe processes never stops until I log off the account or shut down the computer (obviously).
Task Manager will not kill either process. Gives me an error message.

    I hope this helps.

    I only have OptionsList.boost
And yes I can make and edit new files in that folder,
  • My information is the testing of the program in 2 different machines:

    Desktop
    -------
    1. Windows 7 (first 32-bit, later 64-bit Home)
    2. my main account (Administrator type)
    3. DownloadList.boost, OptionList.boost, and can create/edit/change files.
    4. Ethernet 100Mbit connection

Here program worked without a problem.

    Laptop
    ------
    1. Windows 7 64-bit
    2. The same user account name desktop has (Administrator type)
    3. OptionList.boost, and can create/edit/change files.
    4. Wireless usually, but also tested with wired Ethernet and had same result.

Here program installed and make the starting program update fine, it downloaded some files, but later when main app appears, gives the NoBoostList error message.

Since both machines share most of the same configuration, and use the standard Windows Firewall. I'm beginning to think is a wireless network issue, specially when saw another person with a similar setup than mine having the same issue (desktop works, laptop don't).
  • <1> Installed as Admin for all users VISTA OS 64-bit Desktop
